Teachers Training

Experiene the best in Spanish Immersion.

For schools who wish to develop the Spanish language skills of their teachers, an immersion course in Cantabria, Spain could be an ideal answer to help your staff begin their Spanish journey. Our language courses are suitable for both complete beginners and those with some previous knowledge of Spanish.

Language classes take place at the renowned International University Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander. The UIMP has a long tradition of teaching Spanish as a foreign language to adult learners at all levels. All course tutors are qualified and experienced teachers of Spanish as a foreign language.

The courses, supervised by ALL (Association for language learning), have been designed for Links into Spanish and UK primary teachers and are focussed on the specific needs of primary classroom teachers who may never have learnt the language before and need to bring themselves quickly up to speed in order to deliver the New Primary Curriculum from September 2014. Course designers are familiar with the New Curriculum and with commonly-used methods and content in the primary languages classroom. Not only will teachers learning Spanish with us improve their own knowledge, they will see methodology modelled and learn the language they will need to teach their own pupils.

But there’s more to a Links into Spanish course than just language learning!

Every day participants will take part in a programme of cultural and interactive activities to add a truly Spanish dimension to their experience. They will visit Spanish primary schools to meet teachers and pupils, see the main attractions of the Cantabria region, learn more about the region’s traditions and practices (from a visit to the Cantabrian Parliament to a churros festival), and even meet locals in a specially-designed treasure hunt in Comillas, one of the prettiest villages in Cantabria, in which the local shopkeepers take part.

Courses take place in UK school holidays (not necessarily the same dates as in Spain) and all travel, accommodation, meals, visits and activities are included in the price of the schedule attached. It is possible to apply for European funding to support staff mobility, although the deadline for 2014 is tight. Please contact us if you need further advice or support with this. info@linksintospanish.com

All in all, if you’re looking for a course with a difference and one where our company’s personal attention to teachers’ needs is paramount, then this is the Spanish immersion for you!
